Caffery Van Horne
Caffery Van Horne is a Canadian, award-winning stylist who has worked in the industries of fashion and conceptual design for over 15 years. After attending the prestigious Academy of Merchandising and Design in Toronto, Canada in 1998, he moved to London, U.K. to work on fashion editorials, runway shows and music videos as a key hair stylist. With a growing interest in conceptual design, he took advantage of an opportunity and successfully opened a modern furniture store in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 2003. In 2005 he sold the business, moved back to his home town of Toronto and returned to styling. In 2006, Caffery was offered a position as a Lifestyle Director for Canada’s leading diversity magazine called Amoi. This position was the catalyst that sparked his interest in art direction and photography. While his official duties included developing and writing fashion, beauty, travel and luxury stories, the Editorial Director recognized his bourgeoning talent in art direction. As a result, he was offered the opportunity to art direct photo shoots on an ad hoc basis. Caffery’s love of fashion photography continued to grow and in 2008, he signed with Wilhelmina Agency in South Beach, Florida and continued to create beautiful images. In 2011 he opened a studio where he offered hair, make-up, interior design and styling services. Later in 2011 and 2012, he won the Contessa Award for Men’s Stylist twice. Caffery moved on to pursue a Certificate in Photography Studies at Toronto’s Ryerson University in 2012. At the end of his accelerated program, he won the Student Award presented by the Art Gallery of Ontario. In 2014, he began shooting for Colombian swim-wear companies, which led to the production of his long awaited namesake fashion line.
