BEHIND THE SCENES WITH TOM*

It’s shortly after 6pm inside of Waterworks, a rustic heritage building nestled in the southwest pocket of downtown Toronto.

On this mild March evening, the converted warehouse turned event-venue is filled with a renewed energy as Toronto Men’s Fashion Week – and its huge staff of employees and volunteers – settle in.

With the opening runway shows scheduled to kick off in less than an hour, the venue is buzzing as various event teams co-ordinate and scramble to make last-minute adjustments.

Backstage, designers are with their own teams, getting ready to unveil the fruits of thousands of hours of hard work and preparation. Most of the heavy lifting has already been done but this is where it all comes together. Every detail counts; the music, the makeup, the lighting, the order of the looks…

Although the designers and their brands are placed front row center for the evening, they’ll be the first to tell you that tonight isn’t about them. Tonight is about expression. It’s about art. And most importantly, tonight is about celebrating the freedom to explore your creativity while carving out your own vision.

Here is a sneak peek from behind-the-scenes showcasing all the work that goes into bringing that vision to life:
